We know the theater industry has been plagued with delays since CinemaHed 2 was first announced, but with some of the major players in the industry also having major layoffs, we’ve been hearing rumors of some major layoffs across the industry.
It’s been speculated that AMC’s CinemasHed is the last big theater chain to close, and we’re excited to hear the news.
In its announcement today, AMC StudiosHed said that “the film business is on a tear” and “the only thing keeping this theater business afloat is the quality of the movies and the passion of its patrons.”
The news comes as no surprise as Cinemas Hed 2, which premiered in April, has proven to be one of the industry’s most successful theatrical offerings.
AMC Studios Hed is set to close in March 2019, and will be replaced by Cinemas CinemaHED, a competitor with its own brand and pricing.
AMC will also shut down all the remaining Cinemas and CinemaHeds in 2019.
