Posted February 10, 2018 11:30:20The Westgate Cinema, in the heart of Westgate, has closed for good.
The Westside Cinema at Westgate Village in Perth’s west is currently closed for refurbishment after a series of issues.
In a statement, the Westgate Corporation said:”The Westglades has seen a number of issues affecting the operation of the cinema.
A number of problems were identified, and all the necessary steps have been taken to address them.
We are continuing to work with the Westglade Community to resolve the issues that have arisen, but we are confident in the overall plan for the future.”
The WestGlades has been hit hard by a severe drought, and has seen many homes and businesses shut down due to the impacts of the weather.
Westgate Cinemas has been operating at the Westfield Westgate in the West Gate Village since 2012, with a number in the community saying it has been a good and family-run business.
A spokesperson for Westgate said the company was “aware of the situation” at the cinema and that a decision had not yet been made on the future of the theatre.
