LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™: The Battle of Five Armies will be released on Blu-ray and DVD this weekend in the UK.
It was first released in 2011 and was made by The Lord Of The Rings and is set for release on July 11, 2020.
Lego’s UK studio, Lego Group, announced the Blu-rays and DVDs this morning, giving a brief overview of the film, and detailing a slew of exclusive features and extras in both DVD and Blu-Ray formats.
We can also confirm that the UK Blu-Rays will include the previously-announced bonus feature on Blu: a 30-minute interview with director J.R.
For fans of the Lord Of the Rings trilogy, this will be the first time that Tolkien has spoken directly to a UK audience since he left Middle-earth in 1977, and will be seen as a great opportunity to introduce the film to fans who may have not seen it before.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is also being released this weekend on Blu – but with a few changes.
In addition to the previously announced feature on the Blu, we can confirm that the UK Blu is being offered with an additional 10 minutes of deleted scenes (and that the film will not be re-released).
However, the Blu is also getting a special bonus feature that will be exclusive to this week only: an interview with the film’s producer, Steven Spielberg.
Spielberg was also in attendance at the announcement and we can reveal that this interview will be featured in both the DVD and the Blu Ray formats.
